Shaun White Skateboarding is a skateboarding game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Microsoft Windows, released in 2010. It is the third title in the Shaun White series. Sponsored by Shaun White (world renown Olympic Gold Medallist winner Snowboarder who is equally good but lesser known for his Skateboarding skills) which takes a rather unrealistic, and some would argue, fresh look the Skateboarding genre. In game Shaun White is a heroic fighter for human rights, attempting to resist the evil 'Ministry' that wants us to all conform, man! Shaun White gets captured and is studied by the Ministry to find why Shaun White is so awesome. However Shaun White gives over Shaun White's magical skateboard to a random person; which is who the player takes control of. To fight against the evil bland Ministry your avatar must skate around and bring back colour to the world and at set points take control of the environment to open up new areas or allow easier combos. The goal of the game is of course to save Shaun White and with his help destroy the stranglehold the Ministry have on the people. The game received generally negative reviews and did receive some criticism for all the product placement in a game that story was all about going against conformity and corporate control.
